Lori Jensen-Brazier

Lori Jensen-Brazier is a Printmaker and Visual Artist living and working in London, Ontario. Lori returned to Canada in the early 2000’s after living in the UK and SE Asia for 17 years where she worked, studied, travelled, and had her family. In 2012, Lori studied as a mature student at the School of Art and Design, Fanshawe College in London, Ontario and completed the Advanced Diploma in Fine Art. She was on the Dean’s List and Lori’s final installation was selected by the college for BMO 1 st Art Competition. In 2016, Lori was selected as the first artist for the year-long Emerging Artist Studio Residency at The Arts Project (TAP Centre for Creativity).

Lori’s artistic passion has always been inspired by the environment. Through various methods of printmaking, mixed media, installation, painting and video, Lori strives to facilitate the restorative effect of nature on our mental and physical well-being. She has always felt a strong affiliation and pull to nature, going back to her childhood days. Lori was introduced to the serenity and the healing influences of nature by her Dad and connects back to these roots by using his hand and power tools she inherited, when making her large-scale tree prints. Lori’s work also addresses the detrimental societal effects from rapid urbanisation and the loss of forest and farmland. Lori hopes to encourage her viewers to understand the serious consequences of urban sprawl which threatens our natural habitat and its future.

Lori’s work has been shown in group shows as well as a solo show ‘Rezoning’ as the culmination of the Emerging Artists Studio residency. Lori has work in several private collections. Lori is Membership Chair for the artists collective, Print London, has volunteered as a tour guide at Museum London and currently teaches art to children and adults dealing with the challenges of living in need.
