Small Joys
Small Joys was created in response to the isolation and despair being experienced around the world-wide during the early stages of Covid-19. We were quarantined to our homes; isolated from family and friends. The virus was in its initial phase and the daily news was bleak. Our lives were online, the only escape was getting out for a walk. One evening on my usual route, I noticed the delicate buds that were beginning to emerge on the trees and in the gardens I was passing. It struck me that in the midst of those dark and uncertain times, there was still beauty and hope in our lives; and sometimes we need to stop and take in the tiniest things in our lives that bring a spark of joy, even for a moment, and help to ease our anxiety.
Small Joys are reduction lino cut prints with Chine-colle on botanical book pages, 5.25" x 6" (matted).
